Ingredients per serving
- 0.4 lb potato
- 0.3 oz Peeled Garlic
- 0.2 cup cheddar cheese
- 0.1 oz Onions
- 0.1 tsp Kosher Salt
- 0.1 lb phyllo dough
- 0.05 oz Black Pepper
- 0.05 oz butter
- 0.025 cup parsley
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
2. Boil the potatoes in a large pot of salted water until tender, about 20 minutes. Drain and mash with a potato masher or fork.
3. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until translucent, about 5 minutes.
4. Add the mashed potatoes to the skillet and mix well. Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the mixture is well combined.
5. Remove from heat and let the potato-cheese mixture cool slightly.
6. Lay out the phyllo dough sheets on a clean surface. Brush each sheet with melted butter.
7. Place a spoonful of the potato-cheese mixture at one end of the phyllo sheet, fold the corners over to form a triangle, and continue folding until you reach the end of the sheet. Repeat with remaining sheets and filling.
8. Arrange the borekitas on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
